Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel and Spa Voted Best Wellness Hotel in Europe
Germany’s leading travel magazine, “Geo Saison” has announced that the “Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel and Spa” in Interlaken, Switzerland, is Europe’s best ‘Wellness’ hotel. The hotel’s proprietors, married couple Hans Rudolf and Elizabeth Rütti, celebrated the accolade by treating their team to cocktails in the hotel lobby on January 31, 2007.
The celebration also marked the re-opening of the gym, following an extensive refurbishment, which included the installation of Life Fitness cardiovascular and strength training equipment.
The judging panel at Geo Saison declared that: “Guests at the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel and Spa find so much more than swimming and massages: the impressive facilities combine style, a zest for life, and humour – a real synthesis of the components of wellbeing.”
On receiving the award, Hans Rudolf Rütti thanked all his employees for their hard work, saying: “Such an honour spurs us all on to continue providing the very best experience for our guests and to ensure that their sense of wellbeing remains our top priority.”
The all new hotel gym includes the very latest audio-visual entertainment technology on the Life Fitness treadmills, cross-trainers and Lifecycles, which feature integrated television screens to provide exercisers with the ultimate fitness experience.
Discussing his partnership with Life Fitness, Hans Rudolf Rütti, said: “The philosophy of Life Fitness is perfectly aligned with that of the Victoria Jungfrau. Both companies place quality and the experience of the customer at the top of their priorities.”
He continues: “Everybody from exercise novice to professional athlete can train comfortably and effectively on the Life Fitness equipment. The machines successfully combine safety, comfort and efficiency.”
As well as the gym, the Spa facilities at the Victoria Jungfrau consist of a ‘Natatorium’, reminiscent of the Roman Bath culture; integrated whirlpools; a mineral salt-water bath, a Turkish bath; a Finnish Sauna; a bio-Sauna with active light therapy; solariums and a relaxation area. The Spa, which is open to hotel guests as well as members, also offers a wide selection of relaxing beauty treatments from ESPA and Clarins.
