Student Bodies
One of the UK’s leading universities is working with Life Fitness to get students into the gym. Imperial College, London, has opened a new Energia Gym at Ethos, which boasts top of the range Life Fitness kit. And the good news for students is that they can use the gym for free.
The 75-station fitness gym boasts Life Fitness cardiovascular and resistance equipment and free weights. All users are able to enjoy radio, DVDs, terrestrial and Sky TV from individual kit stations.
Murray Rudkin, Life Fitness’s UK sales boss, said the college was going out of its way to encourage use. He said: “The work at Imperial College really is something special. It is a unique gym because it does not charge students for using equipment. By not charging admission and providing entertainment sets, the college is breaking down barriers and making gym use more appealing.”
Chris O Connor, UK Managing Director has visited the new sports centre to present the Ethos fitness and management staff with certificates for completion of their Life Fitness REP’s (Register of Exercise Professionals) accredited equipment training.
