Life Fitness and Shire Hotels strengthen partnership
After celebrating a 20-year partnership with Life Fitness last year, award-winning UK hotel group, Shire Hotels, is continuing to upgrade the fitness equipment at its seven Shire Spas around the country. The gym at The Aztec Hotel and Spa in Bristol has just had a range of Life Fitness 95-Series cardiovascular equipment installed following a squash court conversion. In addition, new equipment, complete with integrated personal entertainment screens, will be fitted at The Thorpe Park Hotel and Spa in Leeds at the end of the summer.

Not only is the equipment finished to a high quality, it is also visually appealing and is therefore in keeping with the luxury of the rest of the Spa.”
Over the last two decades Shire Hotels, RAC Hotel Group of the Year 2004-05, has developed a strong relationship with Life Fitness. Stuart said: “With over 7,000 Shire Spa gym members and hotel guests using our facilities, it’s imperative that the gym equipment is durable so that we don’t encounter too many maintenance issues. Perhaps just as importantly, because we have a number of hotel guests, who may well be sampling a gym for the first time, the equipment must be easy and simple to use, whilst also familiar for those that are perhaps the more regular gym users. So with products that are both intuitive and robust, Life Fitness is ideally positioned to satisfy these criteria.”
He continues: “We are very retention-focussed at Shire and the new gym is the latest project in an ongoing chain of initiatives to ensure that our existing members are kept happy and coming back for more. With a high staff to member ratio, we pride ourselves on the high levels of personal service which Spa guests and members are afforded.”
