First club in Scotland to install Life Fitness VIVO
Since opening in 2003, North Gailes Country Club has established itself as a major centre of leisure, health, golf and fine cuisine in Scotland. Now, it is set to put itself even further ahead of the competition with an extensive £200,000 refurbishment of its gym including a full range of Life Fitness equipment. The club is also installing VIVO, the innovative new connectivity system from Life Fitness that integrates both its cardiovascular and strength equipment with new software, wireless systems and communication tools.
General Manager of North Gailes Country Club, Douglas McKewan, explains: “We loved the concept of VIVO and are thrilled to be the first club in Scotland to install the product. We pride ourselves on our forward thinking approach and are committed to providing the highest quality facilities for our members.”
The impressive new gym, which is scheduled to open in September, will have 60 pieces of Life Fitness equipment consisting of cardiovascular products with integrated LCD entertainment screens, together with resistance machines based on Life Fitness’ strength progression model. This is intended to offer users with different abilities variety and development in their training, and includes pieces from the Signature Series, Hammer MTS (Motion Technology Selectorised), Hammer Ground Base, Cable Motion machines and free weights.
Lisa Patterson, Fitness Manager at North Gailes, adds: “The gym has always been a central feature of the club and we wanted to ensure that this was reflected in the refurbishment process. We have chosen a selection of high quality equipment suitable for exercisers with different needs and interests. VIVO will enable the team to monitor and track our members more efficiently and thereby will improve the level of service and personal attention we’re able to offer. It is also great from a club perspective and will add cohesion between the two areas of the facility. A lot of our members use the gym and play golf – with VIVO they will be able to log all the activities that they participate in whilst at North Gailes and also as part of their daily lives.”
Situated on the Ayrshire coast between Troon and Irvine, North Gailes Country Club features two golf courses, a floodlit driving range, golf academy and American Golf Discount shop. In addition to the New Horizons gymnasium, there is a sauna, steam room and spa, Vitalis Health and Physio, Amaryllis Hair and Beauty, the Fig Tree Restaurant, Chantry Bar and Coffee Shop.
