No Stopping Life Fitness on the Rugby Pitch!

Life Fitness outperformed Leisure Connection by 72 points to five at a recent charity rugby match, raising more than £500 for the Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby Association (GBWRA) in the process.

The team-building game took place at the Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre on Wednesday March 14.

Antony Morrison, Key Account Manager at Life Fitness and Team Coach, said: “When the game kicked off both teams started well with a fair share of possession. But our dominance soon showed though and by half time we were winning 31-0. Our obvious skill and fitness advantage, plus our Captain’s, (Richard Burden, Life Fitness Key Account Manager), decision to run every play rather than kick for goal, proved too much for Leisure Connection and the points just piled on. There was a glimmer of hope for the opposition towards the end of the game when one of them scored a great try. But, the hope was short lived and we won with hat-tricks from Denzil Evans, Justin Buchanan and four tries from Ian Wallis.”

Although the score line was very one sided, the game was played in fantastic spirit and continued to strengthen the relationship between the two companies. After the game, all the players enjoyed dinner by the river at the beautiful Bisham Abbey and were kept entertained by recounting stories from the big match.

Players from each team were picked for the Man of the Match awards with Denzil Evans receiving the accolade for Life Fitness and David Elsworthy for Leisure Connection.
